The British brand Scion has created Lohko, a retro-contemporary range of printed fabrics, voiles and wallpapers with an assertive, architectural feel. Named after the Finnish word for ‘blocks’, Lohko is a graphic collection, featuring asymmetric motifs, bold slabs of colour and repeating, cut-out geometrics that defy the laws of gravity and proudly break the rules of design.
Lohko bears the distinctive style of Scion Designer Hannah Bowen, who was also responsible for 2015’s Levande and Guess Who? collections. Hannah has created energy and movement in her designs through the use of irregular patterns, confident freehand lines and self-assured colour combinations. “This fashion-led collection centres around graphic modernist motifs, formed from fractured geometrics and deconstructed, overlaid shapes. I wanted to experiment with regularity, structure and symmetry to create interesting allover patterns with a clean, contemporary edge.”
